It would be helpful if we opened up ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge). I think it's a mistake not to. And I would urge you all to travel up there and take a look at it, and you can make the determination as to how beautiful that country is.

And THEN there’s the Dixie Chicks
and their continuing whines about promoters/venues etc. dropping like flies out from under them:
Oh, hey. What part of “if you make a political statement publicly during a performance in front of the whole goddamn world, you WILL be held accountable” do you not understand?
There are a lot of us who don’t find the currently obtaining political situation in this country to our liking. And we spend a lot of time venting about it. However, WE are NOT the Dixie Chicks.
You get up on stage in the UK, and you whine about being from the same state as the current US President. And you go on to make fairly politically hot statements as regards that same US President. But you don’t think you should have to take responsibility for that?
Grow up, little girls. YOU are responsible for your actions, since you are all adults.
[Oh, and btw, a very great deal of what’s wrong in this country today is the refusal of people to take responsibility for their own actions. But that’s a WHOLE other rant.]

Medical and legal ads
and why they should be disallowed in tv, print, and radio:
The main problem? People don’t think for themselves. Some bozo in the legal arena says “we can help you - we can get you $500k because you ran a red light and someone centerpunched you”; or a “doctor” says, “we can give you 20-20 vision and perfect hearing, no matter if you’ve been told no one can help you”. This is all targeted to those on Medicare of course. And what it does is promulgate the purchase of appliances and surgeries that one doesn’t need, and that do not of course accomplish as advertised….
