At first there was nothing. Then She said 'Let there be light!' Then there was still nothing. But you could see it.

For the animal lovers out there ~

here’s a picture of our “goddess-gift” kitty:

Minx in the bunny's lap

Now, for those wondering about the appellation “goddess-gift”, here’s the story: We knew our last “old kitty” (almost 19) would have to be sent on to kitty heaven soon. We were hoping not to have to deal with this before the end of the holiday season though, for obvious reasons. One evening in early November, I was sitting here at the computer and husband was watching TV, normal routine. The computer faces the north wall with its 4×6 foot triple window. Suddenly I caught movement at the window, and upon looking closer (it was late and dark), realized it was a white cat - crying to come in, of course! So I let her in….

We had to help our old friend on to heaven a couple of weeks later, but the “kitty goddess” knows how well we treat our animals, and had sent Minx into our lives to help with the ache and transition. Minx is maybe the best cat we’ve ever had…. She loves us and we love her, and we thank the goddess for the gift on a daily basis.

[[Corollary: if you’re interested, I make the bunnies, using a variety of “victorian-ish” print combinations, bits and pieces of lace and ribbons, buttons for eyes and embroidery floss for nose and mouth (or sometimes I paint the face if she’s being given to a child). Each “bunny girl” is individually named and numbered and I never repeat fabric combinations. As to Minx’s use of Estilvia’s lap, she invented that on her own. I’ve sold out of the bunnies for the moment (due to having gone back to work for 4.5 years) so she’s having to put up with the plain old sheepskin under the coffee table until I have time to make a few more of them….]]

It occurs to me that I’ll be dead

before I finish all the projects I have already started. And then there’s the things I want to try that I haven’t started YET.

I read somewhere that you don’t get to die until all your projects are done. If that’s the case, I’m obviously set to live forever….
