Greatness is not where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must set sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it - but sail we must, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. Ralph Waldo Emerson

High water and the horses ~

The farrier will be along tomorrow. The horses are across our little river and apparently don’t want to come back since the water is pretty high right now (snowmelt and rain runoff combination). Husband thinks he can get them to come up to the fence on the other side, so the farrier can do his thing sort of out in the road instead of in the normal area near the shed.

Time will tell. The mules in the pasture with them aren’t crossing the river either - and mules being way smarter than horses, I figure there’s a good reason for it!

Well, worked okay - the mare (belongs to a friend) was iffy about being caught, but we finally got them both done, and my horse is back home here where he belongs.
